Biography

Tara has worked on stage since the tender age of sixteen, first as a solo artist in coffeehouses, and later as a member of assorted bands and orchestras playing all types of music. While Tara's mainstay has always been her unique vocal styling, she usually has accompanied herself on guitar or bass.

From her years in folk music as a solo at the Earthshine Coffeehouse, or with the Earthshine Bluegrass Band, to her country-rock band The Last Chance Jam Band, to Tara's work with Mercy Rose, she has always been seen as a blues singer at heart. Tara developed her love, appreciation and abilities in the blues fields by working with groups such as Freeport, The Roy Coran Jazz Orchestra, The Untouchables, and finally with her present group, Tender Mercys Rhythm and Blues Band.

Tara has had a lot of studio experience, with her own album "Not Playin' Chicken" on the Mercy Rose label, many stints as a background vocalist, recording with artists such as Kim Erickson, Rodney Brown, Ordinary Joes, David Smythe, Murray McCollough and the Blue Shadows, and various other artists. Tara has also become a regular at the Ridge Music Recording Studio with the likes of Wayne Faulconer and Michael McFarlane.
