Biography
Derek Bosomworth has always been a musician. He began with the piano at a very early age studying with the Conservatory. Growing bored of the music being assigned to him, he picked up the bass to join Mike Bone and Eric Shanks in their endeavors. After many years, many shows, many recording sessions and many memories with I Shot Jr, Derek left Thunder Bay to acquire a business degree at the University of Guelph. While studying in Guelph, he met with a band called Head Down from his birth town of Timmins. This band had already been established for several years and needed a bass player. Together, Head Down released a full length and toured in support. After schooling in Guelph was finished, Derek left Head Down and moved to Toronto. He is now a suit and tries desperately to hold on to his love for music and its creation. Derek also plays the acoustic guitar, didgeridoo, keys and has most recently found an interest in sampling and electronic music.
