Dumfounded was formed in 1999. A seven song demo was recorded at Zero Signal Studios in 2001. The songs included Hard Words, Lost at home, Give up, Sparkling Pain, Valentines day Offends Me, Desensitised, and Easier said than done. Not too long after this recording, the band fell apart. Troy formed With Regard (version 1) with previous members of I Shot Jr. Mason joined Adverse Vital Signs temporarily. Tyler played bass in a band called Falsity. Eric became half the man he used to be and played music around camp fires with numerous friends. This appeared to be the end... but after With Regard (version 1) ended, along with Mason's departure from AVS a new creation emerged. In the winter of 2003 Mason, Eric, and Troy, formed a new project adding a new bassist/vocalist to the mix. Adam Bilenki would join the mix to give rise to another keepsake that would be called Dormant Gale. This ended in the spring of 2005. Mason went on to play in The Green Room Side Project.
