With the advent of the "Beatles" , Larry decided on a professional career as a musician and formed his first band by the name of the Vandals. This band evolved into The Merriday Park and recorded four singles on RCA Victor label. It was about this time that Larry crossed paths with the world famous "Neil Young". Neil and Larry traded guitar licks and Neil gave Larry some 'stretching' techniques. Larry became an owner of a recording studio and as a result became associated with Don Grashey, the discoverer of Loretta Lynn and writer of the million selling record, "Are You Mine". Larry added songwriter, Bass player, and touring musician to his list of accomplishments and he went on to tour Canada and later he toured Internationally with Tommy Horricks in the band Cool Change.
