Biography

Formed in the mid 1990's, "Old Dawson Trail" hit the scene with their own unique style of blues. Eddie M once described it to them as acid-blues. The band made their debut at a mid 90's blues jam held at the (old Keskus) "The Office". After Trevor Kelly left the group in 1997 stand in drummers (from other bands) like Luke Maloney ("Wanted", "The Shifters", "The Resinators") filled in at rehearsals. Soon after (guitar/vocalist) Paul Cherwonick came on board playing Drums.

The group has played many shows and open stages around town (they played open stage at The Apollo every week for 2 years or so) and usually would play for anybody, at anytime, for anything. Local bands like "Blues Hound", "The Late Night Guava Machine", and "The Resinators" would sometimes invite the guys to open up for them. The band was also asked to appear at a party hosted by Eddie M and musician friend Pat Marion ("Zombie Wolf", "Sweet Yeasties") approached them about appearing at "The Stanley Tavern 's" 100 year anniversary celebration (the groups most powerful performance). "Old Dawson Trail" always showed up and played.

The group was always and forever will be a "live only" band so it was no surprise that their album "Old Dawson Trail Live" (produced by member Arek Chamski) would be made up of tracks recorded at their favourate shows.

Hometown Records is planning to release a second live album soon that will cover more of the bands stage set and also feature more original songs as well as rehearsal recordings of songs they never played live.

Not quite as active now as they were the band still re-groups on ocasion to kick out the jams.
